How NSW students are achieving better results through tailored 1-to-1 tutoring online
in Maths, English, and Science (without the frustration).
Here's what we usually get asked
Your child meets with their tutor 1-to-1 through a live zoom call.
Together, they work through their tailored tutoring plan reviewing school content, understanding difficult concepts, practicing exam-style questions, and work step-by-step through problems.
Yes. Students often focus better online, no travel, less stress, a comfortable environment of their choosing. Many even prefer it once they start.
We specialise in Years 10–12 Mathematics (Advanced, Extension 1, Extension 2), English, Chemistry, and Physics.
We’re a small team of handpicked, experienced tutors who are subject experts. Most of us are qualified or student teachers, and we’ve taught the HSC syllabus many times. Every tutor is trained in our system, so quality is consistent.
Because we’re a small, specialised team, we know each tutor’s strengths and teaching style personally. When you book in a discovery call, we take the time to understand your child’s goals, challenges, and personality, then connect them with the tutor who’s the best fit for their trial session.
Yes, after the discovery call, if we seem like the right fit, we will offer you a paid trial lesson to ensure the tutor is the right fit before continuing.
Yes, every session is 1-to-1, with the tutor’s full focus on your child.
We can rematch them with another tutor who may be a better fit at no extra cost or hassle, just let us know (although we will be sure to checkin regularly to make sure things are going smoothly anyway).
Our tutors dedicate preparation time before every session. Lessons are tailored around your child’s current work, knowledge gaps, and upcoming assessments to make the most of the 1-to-1 time as per their tailored plan.
Tutors share their iPad screen while teaching step-by-step or work through a shared google doc (depending on the subject) and prepared content. If a student has an iPad, they can share their work too; otherwise, they can use a phone as a document camera so the tutor can see their working clearly where necessary.
In between scheduled sessions, students are always able to ask questions in Google Classroom. Their tutor will aim to get an answer to them as soon as possible. We don't just assign work after a session and say see you next week.
The learning process is something that is ongoing and we aim to reflect that in our practices.
Yes, we set tailored and relevant homework. Struggling students get light consolidation, while advanced students receive exam-style extension work. We set homework that we have done examples on and we know the student will be able to actually complete.
Most students show noticeable improvements in confidence and motivation within weeks. Improvements in assessment and exam results typically follow within a term, with many achieving up to a 10-20% increase in results.
Every student is different. What we do guarantee is that your child will get a structured plan, expert guidance, and consistent accountability every week. We guarantee they’ll always know exactly where they stand, what their next steps are, and have the resources and support to reach their potential. When students follow this system, most see measurable improvements in both confidence and results within the first term.
Yes, we cover exam-style questions, marking criteria, and time management so students are ready for real HSC conditions.
We measure progress objectively by seeing how each students skills stack up directly against the syllabus and also subjectively with tutors noting down their observations lesson to lesson.
Based on where the students abilities currently are and their goals, we will recommend a plan after their trial session. The general principle we follow is that we want to be consistent over time. This means minimum effective frequency per week over a long enough time period (like a term) that will get the results we are looking for.
Students looking for the most basic level of support just to maintain their current levels go with once a week.
Most students do 2 sessions weekly per subject if they are looking to improve from where they are (as well as keep up with the new course material they learn at school everyday).
Sometimes we recommend 3 sessions a week for short periods of time if there is a lot of catch up work that needs to be done.
Confidence often shifts in the first month; measurable results usually build across a term of consistent tutoring.
We recommend at least a term (12 weeks) to see meaningful academic improvement. Many families stay with us for multiple terms and years all the way to the HSC but we reassess a students needs every term at a minimum (unless we need to reassess sooner)

I began my academic journey with a Bachelor of Health Science at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) but transitioned to the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2020, where I graduated with a BSc Mathematics.
Part of why I decided to take start Axiom HSC Tutoring was to be able to provide my students with the direction and support that I feel I missed out on when I was in school. I believe having a mentor to guide you through these critical years is invaluable and that is what all our tutors aim to be
My teaching philosophy is based on mastering the fundamentals and employing effective learning strategies to help students build confidence, become critical thinkers, and achieve academic success through a deep understanding of course content.
